Cebu Artist

KEVIN SERAD. Born and raised in the coastline outskirts of Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines is a young visual artist in the name of Kevin Serad. “When I was young, I first discovered the connection with the magnificent and captivating seascapes and skyline of my surroundings. I then intended to transfigure the kinship I had with the natural world into my works and that lives on up to this day.

Kevin considers himself as a disciple of classical art. He wishes to continue learning on the traditional approach for his realism works on portraits, figures, scenarios and landscapes. Though started as an animation student, he shifted to fine arts to fulfil the burning passion. He studied various mediums such as charcoal, watercolour, pastels, acrylic, among others and even tried sculptures. Now, he focuses on oil paints as he was already hooked into it. He aims to convey the mood and feelings on the images to relate with the daily life and impressions on the viewers. He also does murals on various establishments.

To continue inspiring other young artists, Kevin founded the League of Cebu Artists, together with his fellow visual artists. His greatest influences were Rembrandt, Monet, Klimt, da Vinci, Turner, and Romulo Galicano. He underwent apprenticeship with Clint Normandia. He is also a member of local and national art groups, including the online group, Let’s Paint.
